Roof tent for Volkswagen Touareg

The Volkswagen Touareg is a large, comfortable SUV that feels made for long-distance travel, mountain roads and fully loaded family camping trips. Most Touareg generations are listed around 100 kg roof load when the correct approved rack system is used. The roof type still matters: Touareg I can appear with fixed points or raised roof rails, Touareg II can be smooth-roof or raised-rail, and Touareg III from 2018 onward uses a flush-rail style setup. Always confirm the exact generation, roof equipment and roof-load value in the owner's manual/handbook or vehicle technical certificate, if it is listed there, especially on Touareg III from 2018 onward and facelift cars.

Touareg I 2002-2009 without roof rails needs a fixed-point kit. Touareg I 2005-2010 with raised roof rails and Touareg II 2010-2018 with raised roof rails need raised-rail bars. Touareg II without roof rails needs an exact model-specific normal-roof kit, and Touareg III from 2018 onward needs flush-rail bars. Roof bars on a large SUV like the Touareg usually weigh around 6-7 kg, so check the complete setup - tent, bars and mounting hardware together.
