Older W204/S204 sources list up to 100 kg roof load, W205 sedan sources can be around 75 kg, and S205/S206 Estate values must be checked by exact market and the owner's manual/handbook or vehicle technical certificate, if listed. A C-Class Estate can make a surprisingly elegant light camping setup with the right rails and bars, while the cabriolet soft top is not a rooftop-tent roof at all.

C-Class saloon, sportcoupe and coupe versions normally use a Thule, Yakima or another model-specific fixed-point carrier kit under roof-channel covers, but they are a less straightforward rooftop-tent route. A205 Cabriolet versions should not use roof bars on the fabric soft top. S204 Estate 2007-2014 with raised rails needs raised-rail bars, while S205 Estate 2015-2021 with flush rails needs flush-rail bars. S203 and S206 Estate versions need exact model-specific confirmation. Roof bars on this size of estate usually weigh around 5-6 kg, so check the complete setup - tent, bars and mounting hardware together.
