Roof tent for Audi A6

The Audi A6 is a luxury motorway mile-eater, but with the right roof bars it can also become a refined touring camper for long road trips. Most A6 generations are listed around 100 kg roof load, while some saloon carrier systems, for example A6 C8 saloon, can be limited closer to 90 kg. The body style matters: A6 saloon uses a model-specific normal-roof or marked-point carrier, A6 Avant from 2005 onward usually uses flush rails, and A6 Allroad from 2006 onward uses raised roof rails.

Always confirm the exact generation, body style and roof-load value in the owner's manual/handbook or vehicle technical certificate, if it is listed there, before choosing the tent and roof bars.

Audi A6 saloon needs a model-specific Thule, Yakima or similar normal-roof/base-carrier kit. Audi A6 Avant C6, C7, C8 and C9 from 2005 onward with flush rails needs a flush-rail bar kit. Audi A6 Allroad C6-C8 from 2006 onward with raised roof rails needs raised-rail bars. Older A6 Avant and Allroad C5 rail cases should be checked individually. Roof bars on a large saloon or estate like the A6 usually weigh around 6-7 kg, so check the complete setup - tent, bars and mounting hardware together.
