Roof tent for Fiat Ducato

The Fiat Ducato is one of Europe's classic camper and van-conversion bases, so it can be a very capable travel platform when the roof structure is known. Ducato X250/X290 2006-2024 panel vans use factory roof attachments, with bodybuilder guidance around 150 kg maximum including the rack and around 25 kg per attachment. Ducato and E-Ducato from 2025 onward have length-specific roof-load values in the UK specification, around 100 kg for L2, 150 kg for L3 and 200 kg for L4. Camper conversions, coachbuilt bodies, pop-tops, rooflights and solar panels can change the answer completely. Always confirm whether the vehicle is a panel van, camper conversion, chassis-cab body or coachbuilt motorhome before choosing a rooftop tent.

Ducato panel vans normally need van-specific bars, roof rails, approved base rails or a platform mounted to the factory roof attachments. Ducato 2006-2024 should follow the factory attachment and bodybuilder load guidance, while 2025 onward Ducato should follow the exact L2/L3/L4 length-specific roof-load table. Camper conversions, motorhomes, chassis-cab bodies and coachbuilt roofs need converter-approved rack information, because they are not the same as the original panel-van roof. Van bars usually weigh around 6-7 kg and full platforms can be much heavier, so check the complete setup - tent, rack and mounting hardware together.
