Roof tent for Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan X-Trail is a versatile family SUV with the space and road comfort to work well for long road trips and camping weekends. Roof capacity depends mainly on the generation and whether factory roof side rails are fitted. X-Trail T32 2014-2021 and T33 from 2021 onward with factory roof side rails have an official roof-side-rail service load of 100 kg, while the crossbar system may set a lower limit. For rail-equipped vehicles, this is a strong starting point for a SNAILER rooftop tent when the selected crossbars support the complete setup. Older T30 and T31 generations need the exact regional handbook value, and versions without factory side rails should not inherit the 100 kg rail-equipped figure.

X-Trail T30 and T31 with factory raised roof rails need model-approved raised-rail bars. X-Trail T32 2014-2021 with factory raised roof rails also needs raised-rail bars, while X-Trail T33 from 2021 onward with factory flush or integrated rails needs a T33-specific flush-rail bar kit. Versions without longitudinal roof rails need an exact model-specific normal-roof or fixed-point solution where one is approved; do not use universal rail bars on a plain roof. Roof bars on an SUV like the X-Trail usually weigh around 5-6 kg, so check the complete setup - tent, bars and mounting hardware together.
