The Mitsubishi L200 is a tough working pickup that also makes sense for fishing trips, forest roads and overland-style weekends. The cab roof varies a lot by generation: older L200 sources can be around 50 kg, 2005-2015 normal-roof kits are often around 75 kg, and 2015-2023 fixed-point or platform-style systems may sit around 75-80 kg depending on the exact rack. For a SNAILER tent, the more reliable route is usually a bed rack, canopy rack or hardtop platform with documented load ratings, rather than treating the cab roof as the main tent base. Always confirm the exact L200/Triton generation, cab roof type, rack rating, payload and static/dynamic limits before choosing a tent setup.

Older and mid-generation L200 pickup cabs usually need a model-specific normal-roof, fixed-point or cab-platform system. Some 2015-2023 L200/Triton versions use factory mounting points, while 2024 onward Triton/L200 can appear with flush rails, normal roof or fixed points depending on trim and market. For rooftop tents, an L200-specific bed rack, canopy rack, hardtop rack or tub platform is usually the better solution when the accessory documents support the load. Roof bars on a pickup cab usually weigh around 5-6 kg, while bed/canopy racks can be heavier, so check the complete setup - tent, rack and mounting hardware together. Use Thule, Yakima or similar L200/Triton-specific rack system.
